This site is excellent! It really shows the great charater of Jim Chapin! Jim has done so much for the percussion art form and continues to push the parameters! The genius of Jim is amazing! I was fortunate to spend one solid hour one on one with Jim Chapin as part of a promotional event in Saint Louis Missouri. Jim's command of the Moeller technique was incredible. I had been playing for about 40 years and felt like a beginner next to Jim. But you wouldn't know it by Jim's comments. He told me that I "tapped" as well as Buddy. Man what a compliment. The guy was class all the way. When I left that day I felt that in that short period of time I was a better drummer for it. Drumming has lost a GIANT. My sympathy goes out to the Chapin family on this loss.
